I stink at writing blogs. I wish I was more dedicated to writing every day or at least every other day, but it seems that I only type when I have something pressing on my mind, or if I have any news to tell anyone.
Please forgive my spottiness in blog writing. I guess I prefer the “instantness” of status updates on my Facebook, where I write most everything down anyways. Hey! If I took all my status updates from my Facebook in a day, I could put them into my blog, so then you all would get something. I really don’t know who all actually reads my blogs (here or on Xanga), but sometimes it is good to unload my feelings or rant about my day…
Colder weather is upon us in Germany. We are moving in less then 4 months. Moving to Arkansas. When we come back, we are flying into Baltimore, MD and picking up our BMW that we are going to have shipped over there before we go. Then, we are driving the BMW from Baltimore to Cincinnati, OH. Cincinnati is where my husband’s family is, and it is where we met in college, so we may get to see a bunch of friends from college. So psyched!!! I haven’t seen most of them for 5 years. I am going to have a get-together with my “posse” girls from school (we all hung out together in college, and we coined the name “posse” for ourselves). After our time in Cincinnati, we are going to drive up to Northeastern Indiana to visit with my grandparents that I have not seen for over 5 years–since my sister got married in 2006. During the day that we are there, I am going to go to see my best friend in the whole world, Arielle. (She will be about 8 months pregnant when I see her.) She cuts hair, and I will be getting my hair cut by her. I have been growing out my hair since June 25th, 2010 just so I can have her cut it. Also, with cutting such long hair, I am going to be donating it to Pantene Great Lengths (makes wigs for women that lose their hair to cancer treatments). So thrilled that I will actually have enough hair to do that with. (I have enough hair for it now, but I am waiting until February.) After spending the night at my grandparents, we will be making the trek up to Rosemount, MN to visit my parents and my sisters. My older sister Angel is having a son in December of this year, so he will be about 2 months old, and I will get to meet him for the first time. WOOHOO!!! I am gonna be Aunt Shonda! I bought some onesies for my nephew. one is light blue and white striped, one is light blue with white stars, and the last one is white with brown embroidered cursive that says “handsome” (which I am sure that he will be). After a few days in Minnesota, we will be driving from Minnesota down to Little Rock, Arkansas.
I am glad to be going back to the states, but I will miss the people that I have met here in Germany. I will miss all the beautiful children that I have had the pleasure to get to know and to work with. I will miss my co-workers that have made the job more fun. I will miss the animals that belong to the program, especially the chinchilla that is at the older kids building. His name is Junior, and he has been my sweet little baby since the day I started working here in 2008. He is such a cuddly, loving animal. I just wanna take him with me, because I am the one he knows the best, but I know that I can’t—and it will suck saying goodbye to him.
